If you host multiple Internet sites within the same account and one of them is hacked, it's very likely that all of them will be hacked afterwards. There're different reasons why this may happen, the two most popular are: using really weak passwords or using older scripts with widely known weaknesses. That way, a single compromised Internet site can do a lot of damage to all of your Internet sites, because getting access to one script often allows hackers to access the hosting account. This is the reason why we have introduced a brand new security option named JailHost. Once turned on, this feature will literally lock a website in its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the remaining websites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be shielded from further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your websites up-to-date, but it will greatly limit the damage.

JailHost in Hosting

If you host your sites in a hosting account from our firm, you'll be able to protect them using the JailHost option with just a few mouse clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. This option is accessible with all packages and can be enabled for each folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for different Internet sites never get mixed up as it usually happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts that need access to folders outside the main website folder and this option can interfere with their proper operation, but securing all other folders is very simple. If any protected website gets hacked for whatever reason, we can recover it in a short time because we'll have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups through Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our semi-dedicated hosting solutions come with JailHost integrated by default. This feature is not activated automatically when you add a domain because you may wish to use some script that accesses several folders in the account, yet you'll be able to activate it without any difficulty from your Hepsia Control Panel and protect your other sites with just a couple of clicks. Hepsia is much better to use for people who have multiple sites because it keeps them in separate folders and doesn't keep the files for several websites in the very same folder like it often happens with many other Control Panels. This allows us to offer JailHost as all of the folders can be separated from each other. If any one of your Internet sites gets hacked, we'll be able to quickly restore it because of the multiple daily backup copies that we'll keep and in the mean time your attacker will not be able to do further damage since the access to your other websites will be cut off.
